Koala Love Song
Koalas communicate by making a deep grunting sound called a ‘bellow’ which can be heard up to 800 metres away.
Males bellow to attract females and intimidate other males in the area.
Bellowing is most common during the breeding season from September to March. If females are in season they will bellow in response.
To see this species in the wild, we suggest Mt Gravatt Conservation Reserve, Queensland.
